# Network Status

Network Status describes your relationship with payers. You would be considered **In Network** if you have contracts in place for a certain plan, or **Out of Network** if you don't. You can create rules in the Sohar dashboard to cover your payer contracts and manage any exceptions.

The [Get Network Status](/api-reference/network-status/get-network-status) API endpoint can be used to programmatically retrieve the network status for a given `verificationId`, based on your rules.
